How it all begins ...

In a small village near Wertheim/Germany took the 11-year old Normann a big decision. Marathon should it be. One day after a field day by school in his hometown Dörlesberg he completed a 42 km course. Some by hiking, some running, but alway in good mood.

The young talent of endurance was immediately recognized by Friedrich Stadler. His father supported Normann from now and steered him in the right direction.

Fascinated by a TV report on Ironman Hawaii in 1985, he get in touch by triathlon influence in Wertheim for the first time ever. In 1988 Normann wins the German Championship of b-youth catagory. Now a big goal was set. He wants to be a world's top triathlete!

In the following years, he wins many medals in national and international duathlon and triathlon competitions. 1994 Norman travels to Tasmania, Australia and won the Duathlon World Championships of the elite.

End of the nineties Normann prescribes finally his passion for long distance. He won the Ironman in Australia in 2000 an 2001.

Motivated by all successes Normann traveled to Hawaii the very first time in 1999. The Rookie won rank 15. The very next year, with third place, Normann jump to the podium.

And then, finally, in 2004, is his big day. He achieved the seemingly impossible and is fighting to be the first to finish. Normann is Ironman World Champion 2004!

Just two years later, he shows everyone that he has what it takes and can make it a second time. He does the fantastic, second Hawaii win in 2006.

2007, Normann Stadler wants even more committed to his sport. Together with the Dresdner Kleinwort Investment Bank he created the today's Commerzbank  Triathlon Team.
